This Isolated Barrier Switch Amplifier is used for the protection of intrinsically safety circuits in hazardous applications transferring digital signals (NAMUR sensors/mechanical contacts) from a hazardous area to a safe area. Isolated Amplifiers provide current and voltage limitation and additional electrical isolation between control and field circuits. When this Isolated Amplifier is used with a proximity sensor or a switch it controls a passive transistor output for the safe area load, ideal for numerous intrinsically safe industrial applications.

Cleverly designed, the Isolated Amplifiers normal output state can be reversed using the built-in switches- S1 and S2 for channel II. Additionally the operating Switch S3 is used to enable or disable line fault detection of the field circuit. This particular Isolated Barrier features removable terminal blocks. When an error condition occurs the transistors revert to their de-energized state and the LEDs indicate the fault. Part of the Pepperl + Fuchs K-System range, this Isolated Barrier is simple to install thanks to its 35mm DIN rail mounting is easy to integrate and expand.
