This is a vintage 1940 made in USA set of "Root Educational Letters."

These are wooden letters, painted in bright colors, designed for children to learn the alphabet and spelling.

The box features an illustration of children playing with the letters.

These types of toys were popular in the mid-20th century.

Contains one full alphabet of large letters, additional large letters, some numbers and some smaller letters. See last photo for count.

Pre-owned, good condition with some wear to some of the letters. The box is flimsy and the bottom is reinforced with another old box. We think part of the lid was salvaged and the rest of the box was added.

Great visual item for crafts or display, there are many uses for these.
