This is a delightfully odd piece of outside folk art imported from the “Witches Market” of Mexico City, where it was made by a local healer. It’s an otherworldly elephant (Ganesh?) spirit doll made from assorted materials. Very bizarre, with a golden suit and hat covered in “coins” and a pot of jewels at the base. His elephant face features intense glass eyes and life-like skin. This guy is meant to bring in abundance!
