This is a rare DACTYLIOTEUTHIS PAXILLOSA fossil belemnite from the Middle Lias, Pliensbachian stage of the Jurassic period, discovered in Sougg S. Loire, Nicure, France. Belemnites were extinct marine cephalopods related to modern squid and cuttlefish. Unlike ammonites, they had an internal shell known as a guard, which fossilised over millions of years, leaving behind the well-preserved bullet-shaped remains commonly found in Jurassic marine deposits.
