Beautiful piece, 5” by 7” delicately carved Chinese Soapstone Ink Pot and Brush Holder. The oval ink pot is surrounded by lotus leaves and blooms and in the middle is I believe a phoenix or peacock. The carver used a rust red soap stone with a lot of gray which are creatively used in the carving. The piece is in excellent condition for its age (over 120 years old).

I cannot find any chips or cracks, there are some minor wear flaws shown in pictures.
