This is a vintage 1966 Matchbox Lesney 48 car carry case with the Ford GT shown on both sides.  Once open, each side has 24 compartments that are covered with a plastic sheet that snaps into place.  Overall the case is in very good condition with some wear.  Please see all the photos to make your own assessment.
