This new old stock-testing, new in box (one tube) RCA VT-115-A / 6L6G black & silver glass output tubes was tested on our Maxi Matcher 2 for shorts, gas and transconductance and tested on our Jackson 648. There were no shorts or gas. Transconductance measured:
Tube One: 31.6 milliamps / 2440 micromhos (RCA logo 6L6-G VT-115-A stenciled on base with code K4E; 6L6G stenciled on glass)
Tube Two: 30.4 / 2610 (RCA logo VT-115-A stenciled on base with code K3E with Signal Corps code SC 278 A; 6L6G stenciled on glass; with RCA VT-115A box)
Tube tested with 400 volts on the plates and a bias of -48 volts. New old stock US-made 6L6s typically test with plate current from the mid-teens to
mid 30s with transconductance from around 2200 micromhos.
Tubes have a black plate, one bottom D getter, top radiator for cooler operation and longer tube life, round micas and are tight on bases. Sound tested in our Musical Paradise shop amp (see pics).
Please Note: These tubes are not for amps that are rated for 6L6GC tubes. I also wouldn't put these in a Dynaco Stereo 70.
