This is "A Collection of Plain Tales as Heard Along the Road", written by a doctor a century ago. It contains 11 short stories plus an Prologue and Epilogue (246 pages). Titles include "The Confession of a Second Wife", "Sowing and Reaping Wild Oats" and "The Biophoretic Healer". On the title page, there is an "Adams Publishing Co." label over the original publisher's name (Physicians Drug News Company). It appears that Adams bought the unsold copies of the first edition and sold them sometime after 1913. (This is the only such copy I know of.) The copy is in quite nice shape, with two lightly bumped corners and mild wear on corners and spine ends; there's just a slight spine lean; the binding is secure; there are no markings on the modestly toned pages. Scarce in this original hardback edition.
