Silver friendship, best friend, sister, or mother and daughter butterfly locket necklaces come as a set of two identical necklaces. The rectangle shaped locket has a lovely butterfly on the front with embellishments around it and the locket also has embellishments on the back. The butterfly and embellishments are raised. The locket opens at the top and can fit a photo inside or a note or paper folded up. You could also put a lock of your beloved's hair inside the locket, which was a popular thing to do during the Victorian era. The one side of the inside of the locket is mirrored, but that is where the photo is placed.

SIZING:

The lockets are 31x28mm in size when closed. In inches, that is about 1 1/4 inches long by 1 inch wide. The lockets are 5mm thick. When opened, the space for a photo is just under 1 inch long by 3/4 inch wide. The lockets are antiqued silver in color; that means silver with black accent coloring. The lockets are made of zinc alloy. Zinc is a shiny metal that occurs naturally in the environment.

The necklace chains are 19 to 21 inches long and are made of black polyester velvet cord. The chain extender on the end allows for the variance of length. It has a lobster clasp closure.

For sizing your photos to fit in the locket, a distance shot works best, so that the heads won't be too big to fit in the locket. Place the locket over the part of the photo you want, and trace the shape around it. Then, cut out this shape a little smaller than the trace line, so that it will fit properly. You can secure the photos in the locket with a dot of glue or a piece of tape.
