Comments: THE BRISTOL SESSIONS refers to recordings which took place over a two week period in the summer of 1927, at a temporary recording studio set up by the Victor Talking Machine Company (later known as RCA Victor), in Bristol, Tennessee. By the time the sessions ended, 76 songs by 19 different acts had been recorded and the cornerstones had been set for the future of country music, a genre that had yet to be recognized or defined.
