Vintage original 11x14 in. U.S. lobby card from the 1930's comedy/drama romance, BANJO ON MY KNEE, released in 1936 by 20th Century-Fox and directed by John Cromwell. Ernie Holley (Joel McCrea) runs away on his wedding night because he thinks he has killed a wedding guest. His father, Newt (Walter Brennan), and bride, Pearl (Barbara Stanwyck), find him in New Orleans and persuade him to come home.

The image features a beautiful interior close shot of Pearl Elliott Holley (Barbara Stanwyck) wrapping her arm around her handsome husband, Ernie (Joel McCrea) as he looks somewhat tense or pensive. The color tints are especially attractive and feature a beautiful shade of red on Stanwyck's blouse which compliments her gold necklace. McCrea is wearing a jet-black sweater. Credits from the film are depicted in two oddly-shaped boxes in the top right corner.

This vintage original lobby card was printed for the film's initial 1936 U.S. theatrical release by 20th Century-Fox and is not from the film's later theatrical re-release. It is unrestored in very good+ condition only with a 1 in. diagonal crease on the top left corner within the borders only; a small smudge in the center of the top border with a small v-shaped chip on the top border to the right of it; a 2 in. diagonal crease near the top right corner that goes through the upper background area; a 1.25 in. vertical crease with light signs of wear on the top right corner within the borders only; two small smudges in the top of the right border; a tiny nick on the edge of the right border in the top quadrant; a 1.5 in. diagonal crease on Stanwyck's left arm beneath her bent elbow that goes into the background area; a 0.75 in. horizontal tear on the center of the right border with several tiny bug holes around it; an "L"-shaped tear on the bottom of the right border that goes into the lower background area; a 1 in. diagonal crease on the bottom right corner within the borders only; light smudging in the center of the bottom border; a 2.5 in. diagonal crease on the bottom of Stanwyck's blouse beneath her necklace; two tiny black dots on the lower portion of McCrea's hand with a tiny bug hole above it; three bug holes in the center of the left border with a vertical area of discoloration in the image area to the right of it from bugs on the verso; and a tiny dot stain on Stanwyck's forehead from bugs on the verso. The color tints are super-fresh and vibrant and this card looks beautiful in person, as the main flaws are primarily in the borders.
