John Crutchfield is known for his gorgeous multi-dimensional graphic designs using fiberglass resin on brass metal. This stunning brooch is shaped like a Stegosaurus Dinosaur and done in black and gold with little tiny flecks of gold in the black, which make it shine more (in the pictures they look like little spots of dust). The state of Colorado lists the Stegosaurus as its state dinosaur, how fun this brooch would be to wear for someone who lives in that state. Crutchfield exhibits throughout the United States and Internationally. It is signed on the back “John Crutchfield © 1991”. It was created 26 years ago, before the movie “Jurassic Park” became a hit, but it would be great for any movie buff fan. It measures approximately 3 inches by 1 ¼ inches.
This fabulous Dinosaur is in great pre-owned condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. It reflects the light beautifully with every movement. There is a very tiny defect on the very top of one of his back spikes (see photo with arrow), but you can’t see it without magnification. It looks like the finish might have been applied unevenly. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.
This would be the perfect addition to anyone’s collection of handcrafted figural jewelry. It is perfect for any Dinosaur lover. It is quite unique and a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art. It would look great with that little black dress for an evening out, or with your favorite pair of jeans. It is elegant in the black and gold.
