(2) Two Antique Photographs, including (1) one Carte de Visite (CDV) and (1) one Cabinet Photo. Identified as Lette Sewell. Photos by studios in Oneonta, New York; and Norwich, New York. Lette Sewell is almost certainly the daughter of William Henry Sewell and Lettie Laraway Sewell, of Unadilla, New York. In that case her sisters would have included E. May Sewell who was born August 14, 1867 in Unadilla, New York and died in 1939 in Unadilla. She married J. Gould Hoyt on June 17, 1890. She is buried in Saint Mathews Cemetery in Unadilla. Her sister E. Lena Sewell was born in 1868, most likely also in Unadilla, New York. She died in 1948 and is also buried in Saint Mathews Cemetery in Unadilla. Condition: These are original photographs, not copies or reproductions. They are in excellent condition. Comments: These photographs originally came as part of a group lot of Sewell and Winans family photographs (all sold individually). Other Sewell family photos in our inventory include: William Henry Sewell; E. May Sewell and her husband J. Gould Hoyt; Mrs. A.H. Sewell (mother of Dorothy Sewell Metzger); Lette Sewell; Belle Sewell Kent Schlager; and E. Lena Sewell. All of the Sewell family photos were taken in studios within the state of New York. Meanwhile, on-line research reveals James Albert Winans, grandson of William Henry Sewell, was born on February 8, 1872 in Sidney Center, New York and married Matilda Sweet (1874-Unknown). Our reserve inventory includes several Winans family antique photographs (all sold separately) including Isaac Winans and family (Oxford, New York photography studio); Joseph Smith Winans (Sidney Centre, NY and Centre Point, Iowa); Henry Winans (Oxford, NY studio); James Albert Winans (Sidney Centre and Utica, New York studios); William "Will" Winans (brother of James Albert Winans, died at the age of 15); and Lide / Lida Winans (sister of James Albert Winans, died at the age of 17).
