Detail:
Bike Power meters have been around since the nineteen-nineties. In the last few years, however, they have moved from being pro-only equipment to affordable training aids for amateur racers and keen recreational riders. When used properly, a power meter can provide you with really useful information that can vastly improve your training and pacing. It helps you to become more of a professional rider.
Although Power meters have been developed over many years, reliable models have remained pro-only equipment for high level riders, the elevated selling prices aimed firmly at that market. This is why many mid or entry level cyclists have found it difficult to justify such an outlay. Therefore Ronde set out to develop a reasonably priced power meter which has competitive function & accuracy comparable with the famous brands (Shimano, Powertap, etc.).
Ronde Power Meter is a crank based power meter. It is easy to install and it essentially contains a series of strain gauges that measure the magnitude of the force applied by the rider. Then the accelerometer detects the movement frequency of the rider (such as cadence), this data is transmitted to the GPS device for rider review. Data transmission is through ANT+ wireless technology which is very common on bike GPS devices, and is easy to pair with.
