Item description for Vintage Victorian Porcelain Brass Flowers Brooch Pin Painted Gold Trim

This is a beautiful detailed and lovely hand painted round porcelain floral brooch or pin with a spray of blue flowers and buds in shades of blue and pink with green leaves in the background. The disk is surrounded by an edging of soft light gold swirls. The gold decorative border frames the painting and adds the perfect touch. The porcelain is set with 4 prongs on a brass backing. This is a very delicate and feminine looking piece of artwork. These pieces were popular from the late Victorian era to the 1920s. It measures approximately ¾ of an inch in diameter. It is not signed.

This brooch is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The porcelain is not cracked or chipped. The brass gold tone metal on the back has oxidized/tarnished, which would be expected of jewelry of this age, but obviously that does not show when you wear the pin (see enlarged photo of back). The pin itself is in beautiful shape; the paint is done in wispy brush strokes and almost looks like a water color painting. It has the older “C” clasp, which works well and the porcelain plaque is securely fastened against the metal backing.
