About the Artist:
Ronnie was born in Tyler, TX and received his first gift of canvas and oil paints from his father when he was fifteen. He tacked odd-shaped canvas onto plywood strips until he learned that canvas was meant to be stretched first! That was the first in a long career of self-taught lessons that would bring him to his own amazing style of painting. As a young man he traveled to live in the West–the Grand Canyon and the Rockies–and was inspired for a lifetime of capturing the spirit of these great American treasures on canvas, even after returning to Texas and Oklahoma where he lived for most of his life.
Ronnie was passionate about detail, color and light and sought to capture not only places of beauty, but moments in time when those places were what he called “perfection”–moments when the color and contrast were at their peak. Light, shadow, time of day, are all hallmarks of his magnificent interpretations.
