Vintage 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy copy photograph (not a vintage original photo printed at the time it was taken) from the classic silent film drama/romance, CAMILLE, released in 1921 by Metro Picture Corporation and directed by Ray C. Smallwood. Based upon the famous novel by Alexandre Dumas fils, a courtesan and an idealistic young man fall in love, only for her to give up the relationship at his status-conscious father's request.

The image features an interior long shot inside the luxurious apartments of the beautiful French courtesan, Marguerite Gautier (Alla Nazimova), lying on the floor after having a breakdown as her younger lover, Armand Duval (Rudolph Valentino), reaches out to her as all of their guests, including the all-black jazz band in the open window, watch her meltdown. As indicated in the bottom right corner, this photograph was taken by the renowned Hollywood photographer, Arthur C. Rice, and his photographs are very sought-after by collectors. Printed most likely in the 1950's or 1960's, it is in fine+ condition with a light 1.5 in. diagonal crease across the top left corner that goes into the background area and a small crease on the bottom left corner. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws.

This film is celebrated for its highly stylized Art Deco sets which were designed by Natacha Rambova, who afterwards became the second Mrs. Rudolph Valentino. The spiderweb design in the center of the background is a knock-out in itself.
