Description
Offered here is "The Dragonfly", Dioptric Scope. This concept is a dioptric scope that offers 24 upright images of anything that you look at through it. It is a miniature instrument, and is bell-shaped, made of an outer casing of dyed Birch. The wood grain design on the piece is absolutely beautiful. The scope has been signed and dated 1997 on the brass ring at the bottom of the lens. It was made by Van Cort instruments Incorporated and it is called "the dragonfly". You will find that there is an endless fascination to the multiple witness of simultaneous upright images, once perhaps unique only to a dragonfly. This is a wonderful scope in the original box with the original paperwork, which explains its purpose. It is only very gently used and is a wonderful miniature of larger Scopes that were made in days gone by. It is a very nice collectible piece that provides fascinating hours of entertainment. The scope measures 2.25" tall, is .75" in diameter at the eyepiece, and 1.5" in diameter at the bottom of the scope. It is a very nice collectible piece with beautiful detail and style, in the original box.
