Vintage Phi Delta Kappa 1906 10K Gold Charm Key Fob Pendant Tie Clasp
Fraternity Education Honor Greek
O.C. Turner Jeweler
Hallmarked CTO
Embossed Raised Design
Year of Organization Founding

This is a 10K yellow gold Fraternity Key Fob Charm or Pendant. It Has an eight sided center section with raised Greek lettering, standing for Phi Delta Kappa, the Education Organization. It is marked on the front “1906”, the year of the founding. It is stamped on the back “CTO” and “10K”. It weighs approximately 2.5 grams. The Phi Delta Kappa organization promotes high-quality education and the membership consists of educators and those concerned with education. It is attached to a chain on a tie clasp (which is not gold), that has a hinge that clips onto the tie to secure it in place. It measures approximately 1 inch long with the bail and 7/16 of an inch at the widest point across.

This pendant is in nice vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. I have not polished it as many people prefer the patina that only comes with age. Depending on your own taste, I will leave any polishing up to you; you can keep it in the same condition with its original patina or polish it. It does have surface scratches on the back. The tie clasp has some verdigris in one spot that may or may not come out (see photo with arrow). Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe. If you are looking for a mint condition, unused piece of jewelry, this is not for you. It belonged to my father who was an educator throughout his life and he wore it often.

This fraternal key can be worn as a charm, pendant or fob. It can easily be attached to any tie tac or clasp for a man or to a brooch or pin to be worn as a lapel piece.
