“Alice's Adventures in Wonderland” This print is from “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” found in Chapter Six: 'The Cat grinned when it saw Alice.' This print offered is a Giclee print taken from an original Sir John Tenniel wood block print
which was made by Sir John Tenniel for the English first edition.
This is printed using ink-jet technology on archival 8-1/2 inch by 11 inch heavy stock white paper
and using archival inks resulting in a rich black on white print. The print you will receive will be sharper than the one shown here. This image is much coarser. This print is not a direct print made off the
original wood block. The original block was scanned and the image enhanced
where necessary by myself to ensure high quality. I am a graphic and fine artist and rare book seller. This is what I do for a living, sell prints of my own, others from the last century or two, and sell rare books. It is important to keep our historical heritage healthy. Long before the digital age we had analog. Books and art images were done by hand. I combine the best of both worlds for you. The block prints are the sharpest renditions of Tenniel's iconic illustrations and therefore these Giclee prints will show very fine detail not found in most of the published books about Alice In Wonderland. These prints are printed one at a time by myself and checked for quality. Each image will be larger than the original block image and with margins acceptable to the eye and for framing. Shown here is the image. Margins are as shown, but may differ in the final print received, as the image will be enlarged to see the stunning detail.
