About The Record:

Christmas to Elvis is a tribute album of Christmas songs by Elvis' back-up group, The Jordanaires. Liner notes: "We have selected his favorite Christmas songs and used similar arrangements," says Gordon Stoker, tenor singer and manager of the Jordanaires, "to pay our special tribute during this historical occasion." "I think the treatment and techniques used reflects the mood and true feelings of Elvis when he sang them originally," reminisces Scotty Moore, the only living member of the famous trio, Elvis, Scotty and Bill, who first recorded on Sun Records. "The song, Mama Liked the Roses was sung with special dedication to his mother. Although not a Christmas song, Elvis sang it in his Christmas album in 1957, reflecting his enormous devotion for his mother." says D.J. Fontana, Elvis's first drummer, who played on that session. The original oil portrait on the front cover offers one more artful dimension of Elvis to be enjoyed by his millions of fans.
