After one of the scientists' mistresses is killed, they raid her tomb and find a piece of paper that incriminates one of the young scientists, revealing he possesses a set of damaged chromosomes indicating he has homicidal tendencies. The acting in this film is among the best to appear in an Argento film. Malden and Franciscus make a likeable duo.

SEVEN BLOOD STAINED ORCHIDS: The film revolves around Mario (Antonio Sabato) and Giulia (Uschi Glass) as they are threatened by a black gloved killer. In fact, there have been five deaths before them including a prostitute, a painter, an insane woman, an actress, and a teacher all linked to a dead American.

SHORT NIGHT of GLASS DOLLS: A speeding ambulance rushes the body of reporter Gregory Moore (Jean Sorel) to a Prague hospital where he's pronounced dead and plopped on a steal table. Unfortunately, as his voiceover indicates, he's still very much alive and aware of his surroundings.

In flashbacks we see his tender relationship with beautiful Mira (Barbara Bach), who disappears mysteriously one night, and his efforts to investigate with the aid of two colleagues, Jack and Jessica. Gradually he learns about a nefarious cult dedicated to orgies and the violent silencing of anyone who opposes them. How Mira and her obsession with butterflies figure in, however, is a revleation not uncovered until the final act.
