OOP=Out Of Print in all formats and no longer being manufactured. Box has been cut and mounted in a white, hard plastic clamshell keepcase. It has 'ACT' in a light black marker, almost gray, on the bottom end of case.
Cassette is nice and clean. Pre-viewed for quality and played great on my Sony deck with a few lines over the end credits. The full screen picture is perfect for old school tube TVs as the image will fill your square frame.
One of my all-time favorite time travel movies.
Tom (Casper Van Dien), a once respected reporter, is now divorced, grizzled, has nightmares and is working for the National Inquisitor tabloid. He manages to stop an air collision thanks to a "brochure of disasters" from a weird guy he had also seen at a burning power plant.
Turns out that corporate people from the future are sending clients back in time to witness deadly historical disasters--that they make sure happen. Tom and co-worker Elizabeth (Catherine Bell) are on the run from FBI agent Lawrence Dane. With each disaster averted, thanks to the brochure, a disturbance in the timeline is felt in the future.
This prompts an assassin team (Theresa Saldana and Peter Outerbridge) from the future to get rid of the reporter before he prevents other disasters and destroys the future. Martin Sheen and Catherine Van Dien (Oxenberg) appear from the future on lap top computer screens. He gives orders and she gives sales pitches. This clever, above average TV movie features a convincing subway crash and a coliseum fire during a hockey game.
Originally made for TBS cable TV so the aspect ratio is going to be 1.33:1 on the dvd as well. Not a lot to be gained by purchasing the disc. Sci-fi fans will not be disappointed, great little sleeper hit, above average for TV movies.
