The arrangements collected in this book are designed for music school students of different levels of their flute playing skills. They were being made over a long period of time and were intended to solve specific teaching problems.Pieces from Tchaikovsky's "Children's Album" ("Mama", "The Sick Doll", "The New Doll", "Kamarinskaia") are meant for beginning flute-players. In a way, they are a supplement to the well-known series of arrangements of pieces from the "Children's Album" made by N. Platonov and included in his many times republished "School of Flute Playing".Three pieces by S. Prokofiev are also supposed to enlarge the repertoire for beginners. They are somewhat more complicated than the preceding ones, for they demand ability to use a wider range of the instrument as well as certain breathing skills, which would allow working on phonation and phrasing. The pieces by R. Glier and J. Strauss can be performed by intermediates, and the fragment from Brahms' Variations On A Theme by Haydn, which is rhythmically quite complicated, would be more suitable for advanced students.CONTENTS1.
