There's something very appealing about mandalas. Perhaps it's their symmetry & balance or their unique combination of complexity and bold simplicity. Whatever the reason, I often turn to mandalas when creating 2-drop even count peyote stitch bracelet designs. For more about mandalas, read the information at the bottom of the description.

For this bracelet, I chose 3 colors that make a bold impression: black & galvanized (metallic) turquoise beads with white accents.

The bracelet is hand-woven, 2 small beads at a time, using a technique called 2-drop peyote stitch, a technique that gives the piece a lovely drape, almost like fabric. It measures 1" (2.5cm) wide & approximately 7" (17.8cm) long, including the antiqued silver-tone tube clasp.

NOTE: All items are shipped from my studio in the south of France, so please allow time to reach destinations outside France. I ship quickly (often the same business day as the order is placed) but have no control over the speed -- or lack thereof -- of postal services here or around the world.

From Wikipedia: "A mandala (emphasis on the first syllable; Sanskrit ?????, ma??ala – literally "circle") is a geometric configuration of symbols. In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing the attention of practitioners and adepts, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation and trance induction. In the Eastern religions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Shintoism it is used as a map representing deities, or especially in the case of Shintoism, paradises, kami, or actual shrines.

In New Age, the mandala is a diagram, chart, or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a time-microcosm of the universe, but it originally meant to represent wholeness and a model for the organizational structure of life itself, a cosmic diagram that shows the relation to the infinite and the world that extends beyond and within various minds & bodies."
