Enhance your Descriptions with ChatGPT
If you're a seller on the Bonanza Worldwide marketplace, you know how important it is to have clear and compelling product descriptions. These descriptions help potential customers understand what they're buying and why they should choose your product over someone else's. But crafting these descriptions can be time-consuming and challenging. That's where
ChatGPT comes in.
ChatGPT is an advanced language model that can generate high-quality text in a matter of seconds. It's trained on a vast corpus of text, which means it can understand and replicate a wide range of writing styles and tones. By using ChatGPT to write your product descriptions, you can save time, improve your listings, and attract more customers.
Here's how to get started using
ChatGPT to write your product descriptions:
- Choose your product and gather information: Before you start writing, you need to know everything you can about the product you're selling. This includes its features, benefits, and any unique selling points. You can also gather information from customer reviews, competitor listings, and other sources.
- Use ChatGPT to generate a draft description: Once you have your information, you can use ChatGPT to generate a draft product description. You can do this by typing in a few key details about your product and letting ChatGPT take it from there. You may need to try a few different prompts or inputs to get the best result.
- Edit and refine the description: ChatGPT's output may not be perfect, but it will give you a good starting point. You can then edit and refine the description to make it more accurate and engaging. This might involve adding or removing information, rephrasing sentences, or adjusting the tone of the writing.
- Use keywords and optimize for search: When writing product descriptions, it's important to use relevant keywords that will help your listing show up in search results. You can use tools like Google Keyword Planner or SEMrush to find the right keywords to use. Be sure to include these keywords in your description, but don't overdo it. You want your writing to sound natural and conversational, not like a keyword-stuffed mess.
- Test and iterate: Finally, it's important to test your product descriptions and see what works best. Try different variations and see which ones generate the most clicks and sales. You can also get feedback from customers or colleagues to see if they find your descriptions compelling.
By using ChatGPT to write your product descriptions, you can save time and improve your listings. But it's important to remember that ChatGPT is just a tool. You still need to put in the work to gather information, edit and refine your writing, and optimize for search.

IMHO:I find that many people don’t read more than 3 sentences (a sad sign of the times) and there are many times when potential buyers ask questions about the product that they would know if they had read the description. The above description is complete but may be too long for those readers that will say, “Oh, my eyeballs are going to fall out!” or “My eyeballs are starting to bleed!”
Hi BookMarket! To make a description quicker to read I would suggest bullet points. Google favors detailed descriptions and keywords are very helpful too.
I have just started using CGPD on my own website. It’s an amazing tool for us non native English speakers.
I use it in 3 steps.
1. Translate to English
2. Refrase and extend the text
3. Ask CGPD to give keywords for the written text.
Can probably do it in one step with better promt crafting.
Will update all listings here on Bonanza when I’m done with my own webstore. Lots of spelling and grammar errors on all my listings :)
Hi Storeofsweden! I can see how helpful this product would be to non-native English speakers! Thanks for the tips!
I appreciate the tip and will enjoy checking it out for sure. Looking forward to using something that will help me glam up my listings more.
Yes to where you mentioned customer reviews. We can also get good information/keywords to describe our product (s) via customer reviews.

Hi Sharon! It is really fun to use and I hope you find it helpful!
I disagree with the usefulness of ChatGPT for listing. As a buyer, I want simple, easy to read listings. In the above example, the ChatGPT description is too long and filled with advertising hypes.
You can program the description to be any length you think best. You can then do a quick edit to remove any “advertising hype”, but you do want to create excitement around a product.
Hi Shelly
As a webstore consultant, my research shows the avg. buyer possesses a short attention span. I’ve been a consultant for over 10yrs and remembering that the avg. perspective buyer reacts to 2 things, #1 great pics and short to the point 1-3 shorts descriptive sentences and a list of bullets.
While AI is tomorrow’s tool it’s only in its infancy. The algorithm isn’t intelligent enough to keyword or position keywords correctly. With all of the SEO techniques currently in play and at times flawed human input is critical to delivering first the items search and then providing the potential buyer the informative data to motivate them or better said to appetize them to the point of interest.
With this AI approach the program will work primarily in 1 direction and a problem that I can see with it is that when it comes to purchasing the 2 motivating factors can only be again, great pics followed by a short and informational description as well the bullets.
Not everyone is alike so in my studies it’s vital to think outside the box and examine the selling approach from all angles. The human touch can’t be duplicated by coding.
Just my 2?
Thanks for your insights, BlueDiamondSales!
I’m really hoping this remains an option and does not become a requirement. AI is hugely overrated in my opinion. I don’t understand the benefit of plugging in details, getting a description which may have errors, then proofreading, changing details, changing the “tone,” etc. It would be so much easier and quicker to just type out a description. With that said, I do applaud Bonanza for being clear that this is not a perfect tool and that you do need to verify accuracy after the tool writes a description. So many companies using AI like to suggest that customers accept whatever it spits out, but of course, it is the customer (not the company) that pays the penalty for those errors.
Hi Troy, thanks for your feedback. Using the program won’t ever be a requirement, it is meant to assist sellers where needed.
Thanks for the information Shelly. That is an interesting concept. For me, I like thinking up and writing the listing descriptions. It is part of the fun. I could see where other people might find this useful though.
Thanks Steve! That’s great you enjoy writing descriptions, and your sales reflect it! Take care!
I just got done using it. It is an amazing tool. It took my description of a frosty the snowman couple (him and her) ornament and placed in keywords that I did not think about.
I used the word whimsical in my original description knowing it was not the very best word to use but just could not think of another word at that time and it used magical rather than whimsical. I did not even mention them having carrot noses and wearing scarves but it put these keywords in the description. I edited the end to make it shorter plus to avoid where a lot of fluff was and added my own ending. Other than that I kept it the same.
I’ll use it again.
Thanks for trying the tool and reviewing it for us, Sharon. Glad you found it helpful!
Great suggestion. Thankk you for putting it up. I will give it a try and hopefully it will improve my sales.
Yes, give it a try, Giamer! Let us know what you think.
