I don’t believe that Perlina is one of the designer brands like Gucci, Prada, LV, etc. that are hot to counterfeit. I would not worry about it – sounds like you have a beautiful bag.

You just have to be careful where you buy your bags. I usually purchase mine either directly from the designer boutique or a high-end department store – so for me there is no doubt.

Once a friend had given me an LV and a Gucci to sell for her, she swore they were real – but something did not look right so I took them both directly to the designer boutique and they were not real. Thank god I did my homework, since I was not the original owner.

For those who are selling and come across these bags at tag sales or goodwill type places – you must authenticate before you list – Your reputation as a seller is important and not worth the repercussions.

Perlina, although not designer quality compared to LV, Chanel, etc., is a very good quality name in purses. Patent leather is always popular and has been experiencing a “revival” with today’s fashionistas. Also, patent leather in a good quality purse, well that is a winner as cheap patent leather tends to crack at folds and get dull or scuff spots easily. All the Perlina purses I have seen, has the name woven in the lining and usually on some of the hardware, as you have described. And as noted above, they are not “high end” enough to copy BUT again, they are considered good quality purses. If you are thinking of selling the purse online be sure to use Perlina and Black Patent Leather in your title along with the style, clutch, bucket, kelly, etc.

Can you post pictures of the handbag, so we can take a look? I agree with ‘myshabbichic’ that the Perlina brand probably not popular enough to copy.

Most designer handbags in the market place today are not genuine, Most item such LV, Gucci and Coach are not sold wholesale except to authorized retailers, The are never sold to Individuals who sell online, You can find tons of wholesalers that say they sell authentic designer hand bags, But don’t believe it, There’s has been a big push over the last few years to promote, Designer Hand bag House parties similar to Tupperware and Party lite, But there is no way that these are anything but clones of the real thing, If you go to any designer handbag manufacturer, They will tell you right out that they do not sell to anyone outside the Authorized retailers, Distributors are Not authorized to sell these items wholesale.

There is a push to find and prosecute folks who knowingly purchase and sell counterfeit products,So be careful, I don’t think you have anything to worry about if you are selling your own personal handbag, But beware if you are selling an unauthenticated handbag, Just because you may have a receipt showing you purchased this authentic bag from and authorized dealer, Does not make it authentic.

Although as others have said Perlina will probably not be copied. However, I have a genuine Perlina that I absolutely love. I have had it for over five years now, and I continually pull it out in the winter. It does have all the markings that you said yours has.

I am sure you are dealing with the genuine article.
