Item description

EAPG 1830-1840 LOOP FLINT GLASS LARGE PEDESTAL COMPOTE BOWL Presenting a magnificent piece of Early American history, for your consideration. Rare, antique original loop flint glass compote with pedestal, circa 1830's-1840's. With graceful scalloped edges, dramatic arches and generous (24) loop pattern. This piece is heavy and weighs 5 lbs. If you flick the glass, it has a nice ring to it. The high pitch ring means there is a significant amount of flint in the glass. which symbolizes the age of the piece. Length Across: 9", Height: 8.75", Depth Inside Compote 4.5". Very good condition. Light usage and very well kept. There is an air bubble inside the glass. That is original to the piece and was done during the manufacturing process. It is not a flaw. This beautiful piece came from my late Grandmother's estate in Saddle River, NJ. We have 27 piece of antique, loop flint glass in all sizes and shapes.
