Item description
Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the popular 1930's comedy mystery/drama, THE AMAZING MR. WILLIAMS, released in 1939 by Columbia Pictures and directed by Alexander Hall. Kenny Williams (Melvyn Douglas), a lieutenant on the homicide squad, is engaged to Maxine Carroll (Joan Blondell), the Mayor's secretary. Or isn't he rather married with his job? For each time he has a date with his longtime fiancรฉe, he is prevented from keeping it by his devotion to duty. Maxine, in desperation, decides to take action and bring Kenny to the altar. Who will win, Maxine's curves or the glorious fight against crime? The cast includes Clarence Kolb, Ruth Donnelly, Edward Brophy, Donald MacBride, Don Beddoe, Jonathan Hale, and John Wray.
The image features an interior scene depicting Police Lt. Kenny Williams (Melvyn Douglas) watching Maxine Carroll (Joan Blondell) execute a dance move with Buck Moseby (Edward Brophy) while Effie Perkins (Ruth Donnelly) reads Vogue magazine. It is in very fine condition with a small crease on the top left corner and a 0.5 in. horizontal crease in the bottom half of that border. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, writing, or other flaws.
