Locomotive Number Plate GM Diesel Cast and similar items

This is a cast aluminum number plate for a GM diesel locomotive - at least, that's the story we got from the foundry owner where we picked this up. It might be an off cast or duplicate that the foundry made. We don't think it was ever used on a train because it's not powder coated and the holes at the corners don't go all the way through.
