Item description

Betty Furness ... Self - Commercial Spokeswoman
"The Wings of a Dove" is episode 26 of season 4 of the television show "Studio One in Hollywood". Starring Charlton Heston, Felicia Montealegre and Stella Andrew. In translating Henry James' classic novel to the screen, director Franklin Schaffner was impeccably faithful to thie author's original work. The action takes place in London in the early 1900s with Charlton Heston in the role of Merton Densher, a young American journalist who falls in love with the beautiful but penniless Kate Croy. When Kate's dear friend Milly Theale falls ill, eminent physician Sir Luke Strett cautions Kate that the ailing Milly must be denied nothing or she will die. Soon Milly develops a fascination for Densher and, in keeping with Street's dictum, Kate uses Merton and Millie together. Are her intentions pure or does she have an ulterior motive? 1952, black white, 60 minutes running time.
This was Charlton Heston's 14th and final performance on Studio One.
It seems that Goodtimes had a way of providing copies on demand of these programs. The quality is what would be expected of 1952 black and white television and they even left the Westinghouse commercials in.
