The Tigers feasted on the Red Sox by a score of 18-6 with Eric King improving his record to 3-1 while Roger Clemens gave up 8 earned runs in only 1.1 innings of work.
The Bengals onslaught was led by home runs from Chet Lemon (3 hits) and Luis Salazar, 3 hits from Dave Bergman and Darrell Evans, and 2 hits apiece from Lou Whitaker, Alan Trammell, and Pat Sheriden.
The battered Red Sox got home runs from Todd Benzinger (2 hits) Rich Gedman while Spike Owen, Dwight Evans and Larry Parrish had 2 hits each. Jim Rice added to his Cooperstown resume with 1 hit.
Condition is very good with a couple of creases.
