Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1962. 1st ed. 1st printing, green cloth hardcover w/dust-jacket gilt titling to spine and front board, 8vo (8.250x5.5625?), fine/very Good, 368pp. Book is fine with only the slightest bit of speckled soiling to head of text block, the original dust-jacket is lightly chipped at the head and tail of spine with some very light, almost imperceptible sporadic rubbing to front head and front foredge of jacket; now protected by Broadart cover. The dust-jacket is price clipped.
Quite the distinctive copy of an Earth changing work. Mrs. Carson was influential in changing our world. With this award winning book, she near single - handedly inspired the modern environmental movement. Though she gained as many enemies as proponents none dare say this book did not make a difference.
