This premium hand-forged medieval Viking Shield Boss (or Umbo) is made of heavy 12 gauge iron. It is guaranteed to turn, deflect, or stop any incoming blow from a sword, axe, hammer, or any other weapon that's thrown against it. Because this is a historically accurate item, it may have a very light touch of rust here or there, but that can easily be taken care of with some oil or polish. It measures about 8 inches across and has a depth of about 2 inches. This is simply the perfect addition to any shield, and adds a great touch of authenticity.
