Item description
MONEY FROM HOME
by Damon Runyon
New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1935.
First edition.
Red cloth with gilt spine titles; attractively illustrated dust jacket priced $2.00.
Ownership signature (dated 1935) to the front endpaper, else a nearly fine copy, with the text tight and clean; in a very good plus dust jacket with the spine titles completely faded, and a few edge tears and nicks.
A collection of short stories by the newspaperman and author (1880-1946) best known for his tales celebrating post-prohibition Broadway.
The title story (actually a short novel), "Money From Home" was adapted to the eponymous 1953 film starring Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.
An excellent copy of this relatively scarce book.
