Original 8" x 10" NASA color lithograph (HqL-176)
This photograph was taken moments after the Atlantis cleared the launch tower to begin its first mission in space. Department of Defense STS Mission 51-J was launched on October 3, 1985 from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, and landed at Edwards Air Force Base, California, on October 7, 1985. The 51-J crew consisted of Commander Karol J. Bobko, Pilot Ronald J. Grabe, Mission Specialists David C. Hilmers and Robert L. Stewart, and Payload Specialist Major William A. Pailes.
The lithograph is complete and in FINE condition with some light wear.
