About The Record:
Guitar Boogie, by Arthur Smith, is a guitar instrumental that has been cited as the first Rock and Roll song. It was one of the first recordings in the style later dubbed "hillbilly boogie" to reach a widespread audience. The record eventually sold nearly three million copies and became a Gold record. It was the first guitar instrumental to climb the Country Music Charts, peaking at No. 8. The single also gained high rankings on the popular music charts. Guitar Boogie has been interpreted and recorded by a variety of musicians like Chet Atkins, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and many others.
