Item description
THE BLUE ENVELOPE:
A Mystery Story For Girls
by Roy J. Snell
Chicago: The Reilly Lee Co., [circa 1933].
Originally published by Reilly Lee in 1922, this early edition has an Alaskan moose-pulling sled scene jacket art.
The author brags that he doesn't tone down the high adventures of the story, just because girls are featured.
A mystery set in Alaska and Siberia that includes descriptions of the culture and life of the Eskimos and Chukches.
Snell was a highly acclaimed author for young adults.
Sturdy and well-preserved.
Two former owner's names dated 1935 1962 to the inside front cover, end-papers age-toned, as usual, else very good in blue linen with deep-blue borders, rules and titles embossed to the front cover and to the spine; in a lightly dust-soiled very good dust jacket with short creased shelf-edge tears, with small chips and tears to the upper and lower spine edges, and with a slightly age-toned spine panel.
Octavo; 258 pages.
