The sole was slightly modified and sculpted from the 1994 model to allow the club to pass through poor lies with less friction. This extreme perimeter-weighting and extra-wide and deep cavity back design means that the Big Bertha Iron is forgiving and friendly The "Short, Straight, Hollow Hosel" or S2H2 allows less weight in the neck of the club and helps keep weight low in the club to promote higher launch and spin. The hollowed hosel allows the shaft to extend to the sole of the club, giving a more stable feel at impact.
