The Annunciation of the Blesssed Virgin Mary ? Vintage Catholic Art Print ? Archival Quality
This painting of the Annunciation is from the early 20th Century and Art Nouveau style. The artist is anonymous, which we wish were not so, because it is so beautiful, and we would like to know who it was and what else they painted. The Annunciation is one of our favorite moments in history, one of our favorite subjects in art because it is the start of Salvation. It is the moment when Heaven deigns to come down to Earth and begin the restoration of souls. It starts so small, with one young woman who said yes to God. Art Nouveau is our favorite art style. It's from the turn of the last century, and it often had an emphasis on beauty. There is usually a calmness to it, which is so perfect for this moment when Mary waits for the Holy Spirit. As for this picture, besides it being from the 20th century, we can also tell you that it is an oil painting on wood, 40 x 25 cm. It is treated as an icon, a devotional painting. ** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures and larger. All Approx! Fine art printers do this because the images are almost never the same rectangular ratio of the standard paper sizes. It gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in a frame without a matt. - Acid-free paper- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.- Cardboard backer- Above story of the art- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag. Thanks for your interest! Thanks!Sue John"In order to communicate the message entrusted to her by Christ, the Church needs art." ~ St. Pope John Paul IIOriginal image is out-of-copyright.
