Khouli Hand Painted One of a Kind Russian and similar items

A Gorgeous Russian Lacquer Box hand painted by Kovaleva a graduate of the Khouli art school of lacquer boxes. This box is titled "Mermaids" and is completely hand painted by the artist. This lacquer box is painted on an abalone shell, which is from the sea, normally lacquer boxes are painted on paper Mache, but this one is a rarity. The Box depicts 2 mermaids in her habitat along with the other beautiful sea creatures. The shells and pearls are real which are done with the box. When you open the lid of the box there is pearls and shells in the inside. The inside lid of the box is painted depicting the mermaid's underwater kingdom. The bottom of the inside of the box has a mermaid painted with shells The box also has mother of Peral worked into the artwork to make the lacquer box really stand out and it is truly a one-of-a-kind piece. The box is signed on the back by the artist Kovaleva and the size of the box is 6 X 4 X 2 (w x h x d) (1 inch =2.5cm).
