Jack Meyers was an African-American artist best known for his self-taught, ?naïve? paintings based on sketches and photographs of Louisiana. His paintings utilize a sophisticated palate, featuring nuanced colors and delicate brushwork to describe each scene in carefully observed detail. Born in 1930 in New Orleans, LA, Meyer studied at Southeastern Louisiana University. He died in 1994 in New Orleans, LA.
