Item description
Note- There looks to be a small chip where the spout is. Hard to tell, but I did include a pic. See the last 2 for better details. Price does reflect this.
- This pitcher was made between 1886 -1905.
- It is a rare piece and is referenced in the book "Just Jenkins" by Joyce Ann Hicks.
- She describes and illustrates this piece in the book.
She gives the estimated production year between 1886 - 1905. The glass plant was destroyed by fire in 1905.
- It is made of heavy thick glass and the pattern is called "Cherry Thumbprint".
- The thumbprints are predominantly around the ruffled rim.
Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) has sharp edges. Cheaper to manufacture than blown glass, pressed glass was made in cast-iron molds and marketed as an economic alternative to hand-cut crystal.
