"I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember. My formal training began at the Atlanta Art Institute and continued to college. After moving to Colorado years later, I resumed my studies at the University of Colorado and independent workshops. In 1975, I established myself as a portrait painter in downtown Boulder, Colorado. While I still enjoy portraiture, I have greatly expanded my subject matter, painting everything in nature or man-made that interests me. What I want to convey is my fascination with what I see, whether it's a face, an old bottle, or a construction site. Design and light are, of course, essential to my paintings." Claire Evans
