Size: Approx. 0.8" x 0.8"
Closure: Pin-back clasp
Condition: Good vintage condition with some patina and wear consistent with age
? Historical Note
The trefoil emblem has been the official symbol of the Girl Scouts since 1912. In 1920, the eagle-and-shield motif was added to represent patriotism and U.S. identity. Pins from the 1930s?1960s often featured the ?GS? initials alone, while later versions incorporated ?Girl Scouts USA? more prominently. In 1978, the insignia underwent a major redesign by Saul Bass, introducing the more modern profile logo still used today.
That makes this piece a pre-1978 original, cherished by collectors and alumni alike.
