You are viewing a Vintage 1960s New With Tag Bucks Countain (by Jacques deLoux) Cardigan Sweater for Women in Size 40, but always refer to the measurements below. Made in the USA of Pure 100% Virgin Wool (from Merino and Shetland wools), the color is called EGGPLANT which is a beautiful muted tweedlike mixture of purples-greens-golds tiny amounts of red. Measurements: UNstretched Chest: 44"~~Sleeves roll over cuff: 25"~~Rear Length from shoulder/neck: 26". Trivia Note: This sweater was sold at a store in New Jersey called Landaus. It was founded by the brothers grandfather, Henry, in Jersey City in 1914. Their parents, David Evelyn Landau, moved the store to Princeton,NJ in 1955. It occupied a small space on Witherspoon Street before moving to its longtime home at 102 Nassau Street in the early 1960s. In the 1970s, after Robert Landau joined the family business he happened to buy some wraps made from Icelandic wool at a trade show. Before long the store accounted for 30 percent of Icelands woolens exports. In 1982 the Landaus were dubbed ?the wool family? by Icelands president. They sold fabulous merino shetland sweaters.
