Herbie Hancock?s Head Hunters (1973) is one of the most influential jazz-funk albums ever recorded. It marked Hancock?s shift from acoustic jazz to a bold, electric sound powered by synthesizers, clavinet, and deep funk grooves. The album became the first jazz record to go Platinum and helped bring jazz fusion into the musical mainstream. Its opening track, ?Chameleon,? is considered a landmark in modern funk and remains one of the most sampled songs in hip-hop and electronic music.
