Item description
Up for sale is a small group of items for the Chicago sports memorabilia collectors. This lot contains a Chicago Cubs metal enameled key chain holder from 1989, a Chicago Bears bumper sticker from 1985 and two unused tickets from the Chicago Cubs at the Arizona Diamondbacks back in 2002.
The key chain holder was purchased at Wrigley Field back in 1989 during their NL East leading season when they went 93-69. Unfortunately, the Cubbies didn't make it past the NLCS round, getting beaten by the SF Giants. I was living in Arizona back in 1989, but had an opportunity to visit family friends in Chicago and got to go to a game (which they won!). I purchased the key chain holder as a souvenir, never used it and stuck it away for many years.
I bought the Chicago Bears bumper sticker at Soldier Field back in 1985 during their phenomenal Super Bowl season. They went 15-1 during the regular season and 3-0 in the playoffs to become Super Bowl champions. Again, I lived in Arizona at the time, but got a chance to visit Chicago and was lucky enough to get some tickets to a Bears game (they won too!). You can't go to a Bears game and not purchase a souvenir, so I picked up a bumper sticker and a pennant. The pennant didn't survive, but the bumper sticker had been wrapped up in plastic and put away inside a book, so it's still in excellent condition.
The final items are two unused, full tickets from 2002 when the Chicago Cubs came to Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix, AZ to play the Arizona Diamondbacks. Best of both worlds for me as a long time Cubs fan and being able to watch my home team D-Backs who won the World Series the year in 2001. I went to the game the day before on Saturday (which the Cubbies won!) and was given tickets to Sunday's game, but never made it there. The D-Backs beat the Cubs 7-0 with Randy Johnson winning his 19th game, needless to say, he was dominant! I put the unused tickets in a zip-lock bag and stored them away in the bottom of a box for many years before discovering them recently.
