Item description
Brand new factory sealed 4 disc set (slimline cases in a big box) that is Out Of Print and no longer being manufactured.
Seven titles that deal with Bigfoot:
SEARCH for the BEAST is a 1997?! film that I can't find in any reference book despite starring David F. Friedman (promoter of countless exploitation films).
LEGEND of BIGFOOT is a pseudo-documentary with lots of wildlife footage and some obscure footage of "Bigfoot" at the very end.
SHRIEK of the MUTILATED are college students looking for Bigfoot. The white yeti creatures are actually men in fluffy costumes and one is the kids' professor. They're both cannibals! Including death by toaster, an Indian named Laughing Crow, and the hit song 'Hot Butter'. This New York State gore film is the perfect break from those "documentaries".
CAPTURE of BIGFOOT has a kid, two bad-guy hunters, a forest ranger and his girlfriend, a disbelieving sheriff, an old trapper named Jake, and a wise Indian as the characters running around Cloud Lake pursuing two furry white monster face creatures. Hell, them abominations look more like Yetis! Oh well, its the legend of Aurak as the cast stumbles through snow drifts without ever getting the drift.
SASQUATCH Legend of Bigfoot opens with the famous Roger Patterson movie footage and plays like the nature programs of the era and is appealing in much the same way, with the no-name cast earnestly reacting to mis-matching second unit or stock footage of animals at work and play. This celebration of nature is occasionally interupted by flashbacks of earlier encounters, like an attack by several of the creatures on a cabin near Mount St. Helens back in the '20s.
SNOWBEAST is a made-for-TV thriller that debuted on NBC. The 50th Anniversary winter carnival at Rill Lodge is jeopordized when a sasquatch-like creature begins preying upon the guests and staff. However, in a reprise of the old 'Jaws' scenario, the Rill matriarch refuses to allow this revelation to interfere with festivities. When the monster invades the local school's gymnasium, however, the hunt is on.
SNOW CREATURE is the first '50s film about the Abominable Snowman involving the discovery of the creature by expedition. The Yeti is sent to Los Angeles where he breaks out of his refrigerator, goes on a rampage and is eventually chased into the sewers where he is killed.
Once you've had enough of Bigfoot, here are some other beastly movies in this set.
MAJIN, MONSTER of TERROR is a superior Japanese 'Golem' fantasy about a giant stone statue god that comes to life and helps a prince and princess regain their throne. Majin, the vengeful warrior, causes an earthquake and kills a cruel warlord. He turns back into a statue, but was back for more action in:
RETURN of the GIANT MAJIN: Clomping time again for that ancient God of War who inhabits a stone statue and goes around crushing the worst offenders in a medieval feud. In this sequel, production values are good and the action is well staged.
ZONTAR: THING from VENUS is an incredible re-make of 'It Conquered the World'. John Agar stars. He tries to stop Anthony Huston, who gives an historic performance as a scientist dominated by an alien bat. When he fires his laser gun the film turns negative! Most of the cast members end up with brain-control devices on the back of their necks.
EYE CREATURES: If you have seen the great 'Invasion of the Saucermen', this uncredited re-make will have you doubting your sanity. The story is the same, but instead of scary little aliens, there are full-sized men in ill-fitting lumpy costumes with a lot of eyes, and John Ashley ('Blood Island' series) is the hero! Headlights make the creatures blow up real good. Add some voyeur army personnel and you've got the worst of the worst.
