Item description
Brand new factory sealed dvd is now only available as a pricey Criterion collection disc.
Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek (who narrates) play the real Charles Starkweather and Caril Fugate in 1958. The infamous garbage collector turned killer starts by shooting his girlfriend's father, and the couple flee through several states until they're captured.
It's a great-looking film shot in Colorado, and it uses romantic pop songs coming from the radio instead of the expected rock and roll. This look at the boring '50s is more realistic than usual and the film has garnered somewhat of a cult following. For other movies based on Starkweather, look for the 'Sadist' and 'Stark Raving Mad'.
